Just got back home. Guess who had to have something unusual? I had hyperplasia so 3.5 glands taken out, left the half in the neck. Told this makes it more complicated but 80% chance I’m fixed and calcium and PTH back in normal range at the moment. Will blog all the gory details after I have recovered a bit – not feeling too bad! x

Brilliant news twinkle, or not as you want , glad you are home safe and hope you are feeling much better in a couple of days xxxxxxxx
Goodness foggy you dont do things by halves eh? So glad he found the problem and hoping you’re well very soon. x x
Well Claire, that’s a surprise, but perhaps explains why no one area was dominating in the scans – and why your recent PTH reading was so high.
Better that they found all 3 now, than you went home with one removed and then started getting symptoms again – and on the whole roller coaster again. Ann knows how rotten that is.
Hopefully, the worst is over now. They know what it is & how to treat it.
And yes Claire – make sure all those people who put you down as difficult, obsessive or depressed for no good reason KNOW that you’ve had a very REAL condition – and how bravely you have born it!!
Take care & wishing you well ASAP. XXX
Gosh. I bet you’re glad you had a good surgeon. Really pleased your home and recovering but what could it mean for the future? Does it mean that you may have hypocalcemia in the future? I haven’t read too much about hyperplasia as its very rare but I suppose some special people have it!
Keep us up to date with how you are feeling and take it easy. xXx
Glad you are safely through the op.
Try to take things easy – not easy with kids. When do the boys go back to school? Ours started this week.
I’m feeling better than ever and even going to US on business in October – no way I would even have considered that this time last year!
Take care
How are you doing sweetheart??? Bit concerned as not heard from you! xxxxx
